The Story of "Ask Mr. Coney Island"
As I was browsing through my parents picture albums after my mother passed i came across this picture. My brother and I feel that the man is one of our uncles however we could not ID the children. All 3 of the children appear in another photo with our Father (Joseph) and are at least 5 years older. My interest was also focused on the wood structure just behind them and the building to the left. We can only make out a partial name on the building ......"hman" Baths.
I suspected this may be Coney Island so I cruised the internet for more information. I came across a web site called "Ask Mr. Coney Island". The web site allows you to send an email and ask questions relating to Coney Island. So I did ......see more below .....

My letter below was posted on his web site with an answer. ........
................as you can see Mr. Coney Island responded by validating that this was indeed Coney Island and the structure behind the man and children was the unfinished .....Coney Island Boardwalk!!
He surmised the date as being 1921 or 22 as the boardwalk was completed in 1923. In addition Mr Coney Island was able to identify the building to the left as "Bushman Baths" ...a well know bathhouse at the time. He went on to say that Bushmans burned down in 1973. Mr Coney Island published my letter, his reply, my picture and a picture of Bushman's in the late 1960's just prior to burning down, on his web site (see below).
